India’s technical textiles industry to double by 2014-15

Mumbai – According to a recent Assocham study, India’s technical textiles industry is set to boom in the next five years. The sector is said to be ready to double from its estimated current value of US $10 billion today.


All textiles in all Volvo models Oeko-Tex certified to be allergy-friendly

Volvo Cars is the only manufacturer in the car industry with a complete model range featuring textiles that are so clean that they are certified according to the Oeko-Tex standard. The textile standard was introduced at the beginning of the 1990s by textile research institutes as a response to the needs of consumers and the general public for textiles which posed no risk to health.


German textile machinery orders soar in run up to ITMA Asia

Germany’s VDMA Textile Machinery Association has reported a 130% increase in orders in the first quarter 2010 for German textile machinery builders compared to the first quarter of last year. The association predicts an overall increase in sales of 30-35% in 2010, compared with 2009.
